Fried Worms Save the Day!!

There couldn't be a more perfect time for a movie to arrive in the mail! This is not just any movie... this is a movie that our little guy has sought for a few years now when he remembered, first at Hollywood Video, and now that he's older and more tech savvy, video clips on YouTube. But still, seeing it in segments is just not the same...

With the tropical storm (soon-to-be Hurricane Alex) closely approaching in the next couple of days, How to Eat Fried Worms has become my hero! We successfully kept this news of the storm quiet these past couple of days.... but while our little guy was at the grandparents' house today, he watched the news, curious as to why there are so many grey clouds in the sky. Yup... he watched closely as the weatherman explained to him what Mommy & Daddy hadn't... tropical storm to become Hurricane Alex... Hurricane Alex to hit the RGV.

One o'clock in the afternoon, and there I am receiving my first of three panic phone calls of the day while having lunch with the hubby. "Mommy, please pick me up... there is a hurricane coming." Oh boy, just what we needed!

But as we arrived home this afternoon, Caleb was thrilled, exhilarated to walk in and see the movie we ordered for him... How to Eat Fried Worms. He is peacefully watching the movie now, no worries about the storm, no worries about the impending hurricane. It's just me, kiddo, and fried worms :) Daddy is off collecting sandbags... just in case.

Thank you, Thomas Rockwell for your wonderful novel that was turned into a cute movie that has kept my son from concentrating on the scarier things in life!

Thank you Danae for asking about him!  He's doing alright now.  :)
